From November 29 through December 2, The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), the largest conference and exhibition of modeling, simulation and virtual reality technology the world has ever seen, will take place at the Orange Country Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
The huge Convention Center floor will be filled with more than 600 corporations and research institutions demonstrating phenomenal achievements in live, virtual and constructive simulation technology on over a quarter million square feet of exhibition space.
All aspects of modeling and simulation training will be represented, from replica Afghan villages to battlefield and first responder emergency medicine, cyber security training environments and engineering and damage control. The role serious games are coming to play in scenario creation and training is prominent at the event, with award-winning serious games being demonstrated and participating in a competition. The event, will also feature a special medical pavilion. Research hospitals and corporations will showcase the latest in medical training technologies, including virtual ERs, trauma training, and simulations of disease spread. This year's event will feature over 90 healthcare training exhibitors among the hundreds of participants.
Attendance at I/ITSEC is truly international, with exhibitors and attendees hailing from Afghanistan to Yemen and all countries in between. During I/ITSEC, numerous meetings, discussions, and research paper presentations will take place, along with a series of presentations and special events. Some of the discussion topics, as well as capabilities shown on the floor, include distributed learning and mission environments; flight and vehicle simulation and training; maintenance training; electronic training and synthetic environments; physical/sports training; disaster relief/planning; homeland security simulation and training; weapon system trainers and equipment; interactive and virtual classrooms; and distributed learning and synthetic battlespace environments.
I/ITSEC is by far the most important modeling and simulation conference and exhibition in the world, and not to be missed by anyone even remotely interested or involved in these technologies, which are fast becoming indispensable to human learning.
