The Turkish company Polimeks Insaat Taahhüt ve San. Tic. A.S. has assigned Siemens Turkey to provide the electrical and automation equipment for a new cement line in Koytendag, Turkmenistan.
The order is handled as a turn-key project by Siemens, utilizing its local resources for engineering, manufacturing, and supervision and commissioning services. After completion of the project, this plant will be the third complete cement production line of Turkmenistan.
To meet the growing cement demand due to the construction boom in Turkmenistan, Polimeks Insaat Taahhüt ve San. Tic. A.S. will install a new cement plant in Koytendag district of Lebab province. The plant will have a production capacity of 3.000 metric tons clinker per day. Siemens is supplying the complete electrical equipment and automation systems including the Cemat process control system based on Simatic PCS7. The electrical equipment comprises 110 kV high voltage and 6.3 kV medium voltage switchgear units, transformers, 0.4 kV main distribution panels and MCCs (motor control centers), power factor correction systems, control cables and lighting as well as medium voltage and low voltage motors and drives. Siemens is also responsible for the design, overall project engineering and project management, including complete site services like erection, installation and commissioning. The systems and components to be used are an integral part of the Sicement solution platform exclusively developed for the cement industry.
In 2005 Siemens already equipped the cement plant in Kelete. The second production line in Jebel, awarded to Siemens by Polimeks in February 2010, is currently in the installation phase.
