Intertape Polymer Establishes Local Facility in Europe

Intertape Polymer Group (TSX:ITP) ("Intertape", "IPG", or the "Company") is aggressively moving forward with their strategic sales expansion plan in Europe by reaching a milestone in December 2010.

"For many years, Intertape Polymer has had a sales presence in Europe with supply and service coming from the United States. With our increased focus in Europe into many different market segments, as well as an expansion of our sales force, December 2010 marks a key turning point for IPG in the European market as we establish a local facility," stated Greg Yull, President & Chief Executive Officer of IPG.

"This facility near Flensburg, Germany will allow us to service our customers with IPG pressure sensitive tapes that include the following Intertape® branded products: masking tapes, filament tapes, flatback tapes, aluminum foil tapes, double coated tapes, cloth duct tapes as well as several electrical and electronic grade tapes. In addition Central® Brands of Water Activated Tapes will be stocked in the distribution center."

By having multi-language customer service and stock in Europe, we can be closer to the European market/customers. This will help service our customers in Europe even better with faster deliveries, smaller minimum order quantities and less administration, mentioned Ralf D. Kausch, director of Intertape Polymer Europe. It will also help to improve IPG brand recognition in Europe.

"This is an exciting venture for both the Company and our customers as we expand our presence in Europe. IPG's goal is to become an indispensable supplier to our existing and future partners", concluded Mr. Yull.
