Dow Corning has been named as “The most eco-friendly raw material supplier” in China by personal care manufacturers and readers of a leading Chinese cosmetic magazine.
The award was given in recognition of the company’s efforts to save natural resources, reduce waste, develop new materials with environmental compatibility. It was presented at the 2010 International Cosmetic Regulation and Technology Forum in China.
“Dow Corning always acts responsibly to rationalize limited resources, developing new materials to meet the current global needs on environmental compatibility,” said Mr. Xie Zhihua, the vice president of Beijing Technology and Business University, a representative of the forum organizers. “The company explores the principal model of environmental protection in the raw material supply function, dedicating their contribution to the cosmetic industries by saving the natural resources, reducing waste and extending sustainable manufacture.”
The award was made as a result of a two month process in which cosmetic manufacturers in China and readers of China Cosmetics Review magazine were invited to vote for candidates in five categories of the Excellent Raw Material Supplier Award.
Mason Cheng, Greater China Commercial Manager for the Business Center received the award on behalf of Life Sciences.
