Ultrasonic Systems, Inc. announces another multi-system order for their third generation PV-360 for the in-line thermal diffusion process from a customer based in China.
Ultrasonic Systems, Inc. (USI), the leading manufacturer of high-performance ultrasonic spray coating equipment for solar applications, announces another multi-system order for their third generation PV-360 for the in-line thermal diffusion process from a customer based in China.
The large order for 20 PV-360 coating systems is a testament to its proven ability to consistently apply a more uniform, thinner coating of phosphoric acid, boric acid, and other proprietary dopants at high-volume production scale. Leveraging USI’s proprietary nozzle-less ultrasonic spray head technology, the PV-360 provides a more homogenous and repeatable coating than conventional spray nozzle, mist coating, or roll coating based technologies.
“We are very pleased with our growing success with solar manufacturers, who are embracing technologies that improve the quality, efficiency, throughput, and reliability of their solar cells,” said Stuart Erickson, President of Ultrasonic Systems, “These latest orders reflect the success we have had applying our proven nozzle-less ultrasonic spray technology to meet the demanding production requirements of our solar customers.”
Optimized for high-volume, in-line manufacturing, the PV-360 can process up to 4,300 wafers (125mm) per hour. The PV-360 increases manufacturing quality, efficiency, throughput, and reliability for in-line thermal diffusion as well as laser doped selective emitter (LDSE) processes.
