Arburg to Demonstrate Hidrive Hybrid Injection Moulding Machine at Chinaplas

During this year's Chinaplas, at exhibition stand No. A41 in Hall 5.1, Arburg will present an example of its Hidrive hybrid machine series, which is characterised by high productivity, short cycle times and energy efficiency.

This potential will be impressively demonstrated by a large Allrounder 720 H with a clamping force of 3,200 kN and size 2100 injection unit, featuring a high-speed, thin-walled application from the packaging sector. Furthermore, a hydraulic Allrounder 470 C Golden Edition machine will be presented, which combines high-tech with an attractive price.

At the Chinaplas 2011, the high-performance Allrounder 720 H machine will be presented with a high-speed thin-walled application from the packaging sector.

"The high-tech products from Arburg are predestined for the high-end sector, which is small, but increasingly important in the Chinese injection moulding market," explains Zhao Tong, Arburg Subsidiary Manager in Shanghai. "What counts in this market segment is the quality of the machines with regard to precision and reproducibility. Moreover, the availability and service life of the injection moulding machines are important arguments in favour of our Allrounders," adds Max Man, who is responsible for the trade fair in Guangzhou as Manager of the Arburg subsidiary in Shenzhen. In order to demonstrate the breadth of the Arburg machine range, two different series will be shown at the Chinaplas: the hybrid Allrounder Hidrive and the hydraulic Golden Edition.

Hidrive: high-performance hybrid machines
The Allrounder 720 H with a clamping force of 3,200 kN, a size 2100 injection unit and a distance of 720x720 millimetres between tie bars, is one of Arburg's large hybrid machines. The Hidrive series currently comprises six machine sizes as well as a clamping force range from 600 to 5,000 kN. The high achievable production capacity of the Allrounder H is the result of meticulously combining well-proven servo-electric and hydraulic components from the modular Allrounder system. The servo-electric clamping units originate from the electric Allrounder A machine series and are complemented by hydraulic injection units from the Allrounder S with electro-mechanical dosage drive and position-regulated screw. Performance-adapted hydraulic accumulator technology completes the package.

High production capacity
The Allrounder H machine concept has been specially designed for a high production capacity: Thanks to the hydraulic accumulator technology and the generously-sized injection units, Allrounder H machines also boast a correspondingly high injection performance in relation to the clamping force.

Short cycle times
With the Allrounder H machines, the independent movement axes ensure a considerable reduction in cycle times. The high-precision, cost-effective toggle-type clamping unit can also be used to tap potential for significantly reduced cycle times on the clamping side thanks to extremely short dry cycle times, high acceleration and final speeds, as well as simultaneous movements of the clamping unit and ejector. With regard to the injection unit, the combination of position-regulated screw, hydraulic accumulator technology and servo-electric drives for mould and dosage also contribute to cycle time reductions.

Energy efficiency
Thanks to the high efficiency of the toggle-type clamping unit and servo-electric dosage drive, the Allrounders provide for energy-efficient operation. In addition, the energy recovery of the servo motors during braking also has a beneficial effect on the energy consumption of the machines. As well as the servo-electric drives and braking energy recovery, Allrounder H machines also use performance-adapted hydraulic accumulator technology with the minimum amount of installed pump capacity and motors of efficiency class EFF1. As a result and depending on the application, the energy-saving potential of the Hidrive machines can be as much as 40 percent. All Allrounder H machines bear the Arburg "e²" energy efficiency label as an indication of their energy-optimised operation.

Golden Edition: entry-level hydraulic model
The second exhibit, the Allrounder 470 C Golden Edition with a clamping force of 1,500 kN belongs to Arburg's entry-level hydraulic machine series. Allrounder Golden Edition machines feature fixed clamping force/injection unit combinations and offer the usual Arburg high-quality technical components at a unique price/performance ratio. Like all Arburg machines, the Allrounder Golden Edition models are exclusively produced at the Lossburg parent factory and bear the mark of quality "made by Arburg - made in Germany".
