LANXESS, a specialty chemicals company, has declared that its Functional Chemicals (FCC) business unit will display a broad variety of flame-retardants from its Bayfomox, Levagard and Disflamoll product ranges at the European Coating show to be held in 29 to 31 March 2011 in Nuremburg, Germany.
LANXESS in collaboration with FluidSystems a Haan-based company has formulated a new spray foam product called Bayfomox spray foam coating to make complicated structured components fire-proof easily and quickly. The compact, portable spray machine requires only a small quantity of material to provide fire-retardant protection qualities. The spray foam sticks with a range of substrates such as wood or metal and provides better heat insulation and sound proofing.
The Disflamoll range of transparent coatings can be used on a wide range of polymer products such as thermoplastic polyurethanes, rigid and soft polyurethane foams, PVC and phenolic resins for their fire protection characteristics. The products can also be utilized as plasticizers, solvent substitutes and solvents and reduce the level of viscosity. The Levagard DMPP contains high amount of phosphorus and has low viscosity feature, making it an ideal additive for epoxy resins, additives and coatings.
The Levagard, Disflamol and the Bayfomox, range of products are phosphorus-based and do not contain halogen.
