Pioneer in silicones and silicon-based technologies, Dow Corning has displayed its wound care and medical device production solutions such as Down Corning soft skin adhesives and QP1 liquid silicone rubber products at MEDTEC Europe, which was conducted from 22 to 24, March 2011.
Dow Corning’s liquid silicone rubber solutions can be utilized in the production of several medical instruments such as valves, catheters and intravenous therapy sets. The QP1 expands the options of ultra-quality materials for medical device producers for liquid injection molding requirements.
Dow Corning has also exhibited its new line of soft skin adhesives and sophisticated wound dressings. The Dow Corning MG7-9900 can be used for a longer time because of its better adhesion property. In addition, the dressing can be removed without damaging delicate skin.
Dow Corning produces a wide range of silicon-based performance improving materials that are safe and used in several healthcare applications. Molded assemblies, tubing, elastomers, rubber, topical excipients, dispersions, emulsions, fluids, antifoam emulsions, antifoams and adhesives are some of the other products offered by the company.
The Global Strategic Marketing Manager of Dow Corning Healthcare, James Stephenson, stated that the company’s silicone-based products could result in medical device innovations, resulting in enhanced quality of life and patient care.
