Lucite International to Produce Methacrylic Acid at Texas Plant

Pioneer in the development and production of acrylic-based products, Lucite International declared that it has planned to begin methacrylic acid production at its facility located in Beaumont, Texas.

Lucite International plans to commence production of methacrylic acid in the Q4 of 2012. The company also intends to invest considerably in the site for further expansion. After suspending the methacrylic acid production at its facility in Belle, West Virginia in 2010, the company used its global production base to deliver products to the American market.

Lucite International’s decision to resume production at the Beaumont facility will help meet the growing demands of its customer base across the globe. The Beaumont plant, which has more than 100 workers, manufactures methyl methacrylate monomer.

The President of Lucite Americas, Neil Sayers stated that Lucite International’s plan to invest in methacrylic acid production is an added advantage for its Beaumont facility, which has gained significantly from continuous investment. He added that Lucite International’s recently established and effective production facilities would allow the company to meet the growing demands of its customers.
