Chemical manufacturer, LCY Chemical has collaborated with LanzaTech, provider of clean energy technology solutions, to produce important bio-based chemicals for the worldwide chemicals and fuels markets.
LanzaTech is speeding up the commercialization of its chemical manufacturing technology in order to integrate into the supply chain.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at LCY Chemical, Bowei Lee commented that LCY intends to use bio-based C2 to C5 feedstock as source materials, substituting petroleum oil in its products such as methanol derivatives, solvents, polypropylene and TPE. The company plans to develop bio green materials such as bio-fuels and bio-plastics.
LanzaTech’s patented gas fermentation technology generates economical ethanol from steel mill gases. The technology has been used to produce synthesis and industrial gases from gasification. In addition, it was used in the production of 2,3-Butanediol that can be utilized to create high worth chemicals and hydrocarbon fuels, which are ideal substitutes for gasoline, jet fuel and diesel.
As per the partnership deal, LCY will finance the development of manufacturing facilities and in turn will get access to LanzaTech’s technology.
