Indeck Ladysmith’s Indeck Energy Premium Wood Pellets have approximately 80% fewer fines, which are less than the requirement of the Pellet Fuels Institute. Fewer fines help prevent expensive maintenance problems and create less amount of dust.
According to the Institute requirements, fines in Premium Wood Pellet Fuel are determined at or below 0.5% of a total package content. However, Indeck Ladysmith has measured 0.1% of fines over the production lifetime. The measured amount is less than the required specification.
Darren Winchester, Indeck Ladysmith BioFuel Center’s Quality Manager, said that the company screens its wood pellets twice to eliminate the majority of fines, so that superior quality biofuel is produced for customers. The screening is done once before the pellets enter storage area and again before packaging. This helps to ensure that quality wood pellets are delivered to the consumers.
Stove owners experience nuisances due to excess fines and dust, which can cause problems while transporting or packaging wood pellets. Indeck Energy Premium Wood Pellets manages the stress during transportation and packaging. These materials are created to deliver optimum durability and correct density.
