Quaker Chemical provides a green approach to discard metalworking process fluids. The company helps its automotive customers to save money and reduce their environmental impact by recycling and reprocessing process fluids used in a metalworking facility.
In late 2008, when the automotive production was down, several manufacturers planned to deactivate their machines and dispose waste process lubricants and oils. But, Quaker assisted its customers in recycling these fluids in various ways. The fluids are captured and they are either transferred to other facilities or reprocessed again for use in entirely different processes. This approach leads to high cost savings, both in terms of new material purchase and waste disposal.
An automotive manufacturer was helped by the company to recycle approximately 15,000 gallons of oil and to reuse them within the plant. The customer has been able to save nearly $100,000 from this green approach. Similarly, Quaker assisted another automotive manufacturer to change obsolete material into straight oil for use in broaching and helped the customer to save nearly $10,000.
When Quaker is chosen to handle the chemical specialty products in a facility, it handles the complete lifecycle of chemicals, including the disposal process.
