Abrisa Technologies has released oleophobic hydrophobic, and hydrophilic optical coating materials for applications involving cover plate displays.
The hydrophilic coatings offer optical precision and avoid fogging. They interact effectively with water and minimize deformation, making the condensates to spread evenly on the coated glass surface and avoiding the formation of water drops that disperse light.
The hydrophobic coatings are water-resistant organic coverings that will last for an indefinite period. The coatings are spread over glass surfaces for several optics applications of wavelength ranging between 250 and 2,700 nm. In addition, the hydrophobic coatings conform to MIL-C-575C for extreme abrasion. The coating can be applied by means of laminated or coated methods. They are suitable for touch screens and serve as a barricade against dust particles and aqueous solutions.
The oleophobic coating method generates a glass surface that can be cleaned easily and is impermeable to dust, oils and other small particles. They are ideal for teleprompters, projected capacitive and capacitive touch screens, virtual reality applications and handheld devices.
The hydrophilic, oleophobic and hydrophobic coatings can be applied on glass surfaces of thickness between 0.1 and 25 mm. For application-specific optics solution, the coatings are applied along with other coating and development methods from the company.
