Extrel Launch New MAX QCi Quadrupole Control and MAX CS Command System

The new MAX QCi fitted with the MAX CS form the heart of Extrel's premier line of research grade mass spectrometer systems, the MAX Flange Mounted MS products. The QCi can be used with Extrel's 9.5 mm and 19 mm tri-filter quadrupole mass filters with maximum masses from 60 amu to 4,000 amu.

A number of changes characterize the benefits of the new MAX QCi.

  • Integrated operation
The integrated part of the QCi means that this QC is designed to operate with the MAX CS. The connection from the MAX CS to the QCi is a single cable. In the case where customers need to switch frequencies a second QCi can be swapped easily by simply changing the connection to the MAX CS, and the RF connections to the flange.
  • Reduced size
Extrel's new design significantly reduces the size of the RF supply. The new QCi module is a 19 inch rack mountable module. At only 10 inches high it is the smallest RF supply of its power range in the industry. Other than line voltage, the self-contained unit requires no other power supply or RF head.
  • Increased resonance range
If a customer needs to switch between the 9.5 mm and the 19 mm, the new QCi makes it easier than ever. With only one resonance adjustment and a wide adjustment range, no internal capacitances need to be changed to accommodate any of Extrel's quadrupole mass filters. At the same time the QCi maintains its precise frequency to ensure the mass range and performance that Extrel has known for 45 years.
  • Improved performance
The MAX QCi includes a number of design features aimed at improving the overall speed and stability of the system.
