INVISTA has announced that it making a US$100 million investment for the expansion of LYCRA fiber production factory in Brazil.
The company is establishing a new spandex production facility in Paulínia, São Paulo and the plant is expected to be opened in 2012. The investment represents INVISTA’s commitment towards its business expansion in Brazil and to continue its leadership status in the region.
Brazil is a significant growing market for INVISTA’s business. The company has facilities in Paulínia that produces LYCRA fiber and Americana manufacturing SUPPLEX cloth. INVISTA’s advances in textile fibers enable the company to deliver more number of solutions to local and global customers.
The expansion project will create nearly 1,000 construction jobs and new jobs after the operation begins. The project will also help to develop the community via improved municipal income. INVISTA will also employ innovative technologies for improving its production system. The company is constantly working on new methods to develop the LYCRA fiber with enhanced features. The innovations include LYCRA Xtra Fine Collection fiber, Xtra Life LYCRA fiber, LYCRA Sport fabric and LYCRA Beauty fabric. The Xtra Fine Collection fiber is ideal for lightweight fabrics that require excellent comfort and power and the Xtra Life material has high resistance to chlorine compared to other spandex fibers. The LYCRA Sport fabric is developed for high performance athletes and Beauty fabric for use in shapewear.
