DECC is now using an FDA approved and commercial-grade Eclipse coating system to gain higher market share. The Eclipse is a three-coat system produced by Whitford.
The Eclipse system includes a topcoat, midcoat and primer. The topcoat provides a nonstick characteristic, while the midcoat and primer offer resistance against abrasion and durability. The system is available as a two-coat option and removes the need for a midcoat. Thus, customers have the options to choose to suit their individual requirements.
The traditional and reinforced release coatings achieve 20,000 to 400,000 cycles on standard abrasion tests. However, the Eclipse coating system reaches 700,000 cycles by providing excellent release characteristics. The system can be used on any substrate as long as the substrate can manage a 700° bake cycle.
DECC is focusing on becoming the first source for potential customers who look for FDA approved and commercial-grade coating solutions. The company expects that the Eclipse coating system will help achieve this goal. DECC is one of the 20 companies on the globe to apply the Eclipse system, which will help to target a wider customer base.
