Systech Illinois Procures PermMate Patented Technology

Systech Illinois has procured a special patented technology, PermMate that uses Ambient Oxygen Ingress Rate as a new mode of oxygen permeation analysis of finished food packages.

This tool examines the oxygen permeability of parcels in different test environments at any humidity and temperature.

With the acquisition of the PermMate, Systech Illinois can now offer multifaceted solution for packaging manufacturers to test the permeability of finished packages and save costs for the food packaging industry.

Bryan Cummings of Systech Illinois said that the fortification qualities and permeability of foils and film can change when food products are made into a finished package and subsequently the food products’ shelf life can be affected. Hence, it is essential to examine the finished package. The PermMate can help the processor to select the correct type of packaging materials needed for the food packaging industry.

The PermMate permeation analyzer, which has a capacity to test several packages at the same time, can also be utilized for leak detection, shelf life determination and O2 headspace observation. The tool can also be used weekly to measure the permeability of finished packages up to one year.
