Hot on the heels of the April 2011 opening of its distribution facility in Antwerp, Brown McFarlane, the specialist steel plate stockist, has announced that a new warehouse in Singapore will be opened on 1st July.
Based in the Jurong district and close to the main port the covered warehouse will initially hold a stock of 1000 tonnes of highly specified pressure vessel plates aimed at fabricators of process equipment for the oil and gas industry. It is expected that this will increase substantially over the following months as more sizes and specifications are added. The warehouse is operated by Brown McFarlane Far East Pte Ltd and will service customers in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the rest of the ASEAN region.
In a related move Brown McFarlane Far East has created a senior management role to head its commercial function. Kenny Lim, General Manager - Sales & Marketing, joined the company on 1st June and will spearhead the company's expansion of it's regional sales based on the supply of ex-stock steel plate.
