Fuwei Films (Shandong) Co. (Shandong Fuwei), a subsidiary of Fuwei Films (Holding) Co., was awarded two new patents for its heat sealable polyester films.
Fuwei Films (Holding) Co. produces and distributes superior quality biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) films in China. The State Intellectual Property Office of PRC has sent the authorization notice to Shandong Fuwei for its two new patents of heat sealable BOPET films.
The two patents primarily cover a novel use of heat sealable BOPET films that tackle the adhesion issues between fiber reinforced plastic and polyester films, enabling improved cohesion between capacitor shell and polyester films, while still allowing exterior printing on capacitors.
In the last three years, Shandong Fuwei has developed several new products and filed numerous patent applications. Between 2009 and 2010, the State Intellectual Property Office of PRC has awarded five patents to Shandong Fuwei. The company has seven pending patents, which include three utility patents and four design patents primarily for new processes and products.
