Shimadzu Scientific Instruments launched the SIL-30ACMP Autosampler for the Nexera ultra high-performance liquid chromatograph today at ASMS 2011 in Denver.
The SIL-30ACMP combines with the optional CTO-30AS column oven to create a premier front end for all LC/MS systems. When paired with Shimadzu's LCMS-8030 or LCMS-2020, the new autosampler allows users to configure a complete high-speed LCMS system capable of analyzing multiple samples accurately, quickly and with low carryover, making Nexera the ultimate front-end system for LC/MS.
The SIL-30ACMP holds up to six plates for increased capacity. Using 384 well plates, the SIL-30ACMP can perform continuous analysis on 2,304 samples - the highest number of samples that can be analyzed in a closed-type, safe-design autosampler. It can also continuously analyze 324 samples using 1.5 mL vials. Additionally, three different plate types can be set in the sample racks simultaneously, adding to its versatility. The system also houses a standard/control sample rack holding 1.5 mL vials, which is useful while testing multiple unknown samples with microtiter plates.
The optional CTO-30AS mounts directly on the side for close proximity to the autosampler and can be positioned from the vertical to the horizontal to minimize tubing lengths. This reduces extra column band broadening effects, especially important for UHPLC applications.
With its open-access design, the SIL-30ACMP permits users to access the sample racks at any time, except during the injection process. Building on the proven Shimadzu design, the autosampler provides low carryover of 0.0015% or less, minimizing sample contamination. It provides reproducibility of 1 percent or less in 0.5 ìL injections and of 0.2 percent or less in injections of 5 ìL or more. The autosampler also offers the world's fastest cycle time at 14 seconds.
