At the 49th International Paris Air Show, Simrit will display its new low-friction coating solution and low-temperature polyurethane material that can tackle friction and abrasion problems in important applications of the aerospace industry.
The show will be conducted from 20 to 26 June, 2011 in Le Bourget, France. According to Vinay Nilkanth, who serves as Simrit's Vice President of global sales aerospace, the company's abrasion and friction products deliver superior abrasion resistance and minimum friction at economical cost.
The low-temperature polyurethane material has 4,000 lbs/inch2 of tensile strength and 70 durometer of hardness. It demonstrates 400% of elongation and excellent bonding and adhesion to substrates. The Tear Die B substance has tear strength of 300 ppi and a brittle point of -59 °C. It can be used to provide superior abrasion resistance to products such as aerodynamic seals.
The company will also display low-static and low-friction coating solution for products such as pressure dynamic seals and door seals, and applications that encounter 'nipping' problems. It significantly decreases static friction and surface friction to silicone rubber and demonstrates superior release properties and cohesion to silicone substrates. It does not impact the silicone surface's sealability and can be easily used over finished components with minimum cost.
