A new thermal insulation, which is based on Insulon Shaped-Vacuum technology, has been unveiled by Concept Group, a manufacturer of advanced hermetic seals, vacuum-insulated solutions, and other precision assemblies. Major role of the insulation is to obstruct the thermal energy transfer using vacuum.
The Insulon barrier-based thermal insulation performs much better than traditional insulation. For instance, a fiberglass insulator needs to be 40 times thicker than the Insulon Shaped-Vacuum thermal barrier for comparable insulating capability.
Vacuum is an effective way of blocking conductive heat. However, till now this capability is applied only in large-scale applications. This limitation can be addressed with the use of the Insulon Shaped-Vacuum technology. With this technology, Concept Group can produce and supply extremely small and effective thermal barriers to thermal engineers based on their requirements. The company has produced Insulon Shaped Vacuum-thermal barriers that are just 0.004” thick and can produce thermal barriers even thinner than these dimensions.
Concept Group offers the Insulon thermal barriers in different shapes and sizes and hence they have applications in a broad range of industries, including aerospace, military, electronics and medical devices.
