Altana Acquires GE Bayer Silicones

BYK-Chemie GmbH, a subsidiary of Altana have just acquired Bayer’s subsidiary GE Bayer Silicones GmbH. While no financial details were released, ownership of GE Bayer Silicones was transferred on September 1.

GE Bayer Silicones was Bayers’ polyurethane foam surfactants business. The marketing rights for their range of products now belongs to BYK-Chemie.

BYK-Chemie distributes foam surfactants to chemical companies fro use in the manufacture of flexible and rigid polyurethane products such as mattresses, furniture, appliances and construction materials.
