Buckman, a global specialty chemical company headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, announced that it has expanded its Flamebloc GS series of bromine-free flame retardants with the introduction of a new powdered product.
The Flamebloc GS 602 is a new flame retardant product, which is primarily developed to allow char formation in specific applications that require powdered products. The Flamebloc GS products are ideal for several applications, including wood, fabric, foam, coatings and plastics.
Charles Carncross, VP of the company’s Performance Chemicals division, stated that it has been a year since the launch of the Flamebloc GS line and the company is happy with the interest produced by these product series. He added that currently, there is pricing pressure on antimony and regulatory demands on decabrome. Hence, numerous industries look for flame retardant products that are free from bromine and antimony.
Buckman is working with affected companies to develop customized product packages based on their requirements. This shows the company’s commitment to promote sustainable development, maintain safety in the workplace and protect the environment.
