Master Bond is offering EP42HT-2ND2MED (Black) two-component epoxy adhesive that has the capability to withstand harsh conditions of the medical industry. The material meets the testing standards of USP Class VI plastics.
The EP42HT-2ND2MED (Black) exhibits exceptional electrical insulating properties. In addition, the medical grade epoxy resists recurrent autoclaving as well as various sterilizations, including chemical sterilants, ethylene oxide, steam and radiation.
Features of the epoxy adhesive include tensile strength of more than 12,000 psi at ambient temperatures, a dielectric constant of 3.8, a thermal expansion coefficient that ranges from 35 to 40 in/in x 1.0E-6/°C , a volume resistivity of more than 1.0E12 ohm-cm and a maximum heat resistance of 450°F. The medical grade material is also resistant to a wider range of chemicals, including aromatic hydrocarbons, organic solvents, alkalis and organic and inorganic acids.
The curing time of Master Bond’s adhesive varies between 48 to 72 h at room temperature. The material has a mix ratio of 100:50 in terms of volume and 100:40 by weight. It has a paste consistency, resulting in minimal flow during application. High strength and high temperature resistance attributes of the medical grade epoxy material make it suitable for coating, sealing and bonding applications.
