Air Products, a global supplier of atmospheric gases, process and specialty gases, performance materials, and equipment and services, has planned to construct a new facility to enhance production of gaseous nitrogen.
In addition, it will extend its nitrogen pipeline located at the Gumi National Industrial Complex, Korea. The expansion will address the growing demand of the company’s electronics clients in Korea’s largest industrial complex.
Currently, the pipeline supplies gaseous nitrogen to approximately 20 long-term customers in the photovoltaic and semiconductor industries across Complex 1 to Complex 4. The project will expand the pipeline to Complex 5. The new nitrogen plant in the Gumi National Industrial Complex 2 will commence operations in 2012. The Gumi National Industrial Complex acts as an industrial hub for local expansion and transportation and it serves several sectors, including semiconductor and electronics.
Air Products has achieved a leadership position in the North Gyeongsang Province-based Industrial Complex. The addition of the new capacity at this site will help to serve the increasing needs of the existing and new customers with a reliable and cost-effective supply.
