Nano Terra, a privately held research and development company, and US Equity Holdings have established Microline PV to develop and commercialize innovative photovoltaic (PV) technology.
Microline PV's new metallization technology will contribute to the major performance enhancements to the crystalline silicon solar cells. The technology that has been developed by Nano Terra can be directly used in the existing equipment that is installed in the present crystalline silicon PV manufacturing plants. Additional benefit of the PV technology is that it is compatible with the commonly used silver pastes, which are important ingredients in PV cell fabrication.
The initial testing reveals that the metallization technology can dramatically boost the PV cell performance without investing in new tools. Microline PV’s president, Greg Knight remarked that he is certain that the innovative technology will offer a considerable increase in cell efficiency and reduction in cost per watt. These features will lead to the faster implementation of the technology across the industry.
Nano Terra’s CEO, Myer Berlow stated that the company is excited to partner with US Equity Holdings to launch the new entity. US Equity Holdings is well capitalized and well established in the PV industry. The business has more experience in bringing innovative products and technologies to the market effectively and quickly.
