Plastipak Packaging, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Plastipak Holding, announced that the company has broken ground for the expansion of its plastic recycling plant in Dundee, Michigan. The extension includes deployment of additional enhanced plastic recycling processing technology at the Clean Tech site.
The project enhances the availability of highly pure recycled PCR PET plastic resin for the company’s clients in the consumer product industry. Plastipak Packaging anticipates to recycle nearly 5 billion plastic bottles in 2011and the current expansion project supports the company to achieve its goal to recycle 10 billion plastic containers before 2016.
Plastipak Packaging is a designer and manufacturer of high-quality, rigid plastic containers and serves consumer products, food and beverage industries. The Clean Tech recycling facility was opened in 1988 and is a specialist in the recycling of bottle grade PET and HDPE plastic resins.
