Minerals Technologies has inked a commercial deal to supply its Fulfill E-325, a high-filler product based on its Fulfill technology platform, to Phoenix Pulp & Paper Public’s paper mill located in Nam Phong, Thailand.
Fulfill, Minerals Technologies’ family of high-filler technologies, provides effective solutions to reduce the content of natural fiber, which in turn decreases production costs to the paper manufacturers. By using Fulfill E-325, paper manufacturers can increase precipitated calcium carbonate’s (PCC) loading levels by 25%, which in turn reduces the usage of higher cost pulp.
PCC is a novel pigment for coating and filling superior-quality paper. By replacing the high-cost wood fiber with the PCC from Minerals Technologies, papermakers can produce brighter superior-quality paper cost -effectively.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Minerals Technologies, Joseph C. Muscari stated that the company is happy about the selection of its new technology by Phoenix Pulp & Paper Public, as it enables the cost-effective production of superior quality paper.
According to D.J. Monagle, who serves as Managing Director and Senior Vice President, Paper PCC, Phoenix Pulp & Paper Public is the company’s latest client signing a commercial deal for its Fulfill E-325, which is customized to meet the individual requirements of various paper manufacturers. The company is trialing the product along with other Fulfill-branded products and is keenly involved with 19 paper mill sites located across the globe for the deployment of E-325, he added.
