Momentive Specialty Chemicals’ Oilfield Technology Group (OTG) has set up a new resin coated proppants production line at its facility located in Brady, Texas to better serve operators and fracturing service companies in the oil and gas sector.
The Brady plant expansion will increase the supply of resin coated proppants to customers for hydraulic fracturing treatments.
VP of OTG, Jerry Borges stated that since many operators have begn to realize the association between advanced post-frac well production and curable resin coated proppants, the demand for proppants continue to rise in the oil and gas industry.
The new manufacturing production line produces Momentive Specialty Chemicals’ curable resin coated proppants, including SB Excel, SiberProp and Prime Plus. The high strength products and the geographic location of the facility are well-suited for serving the oil markets in the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford.
The resin coated proppants are deployed in the hydraulic fracturing process, which helps to increase fracture flow volume from the reservoir to the wellbore, thereby enhancing production from gas and oil wells. The development of enhanced materials by Momentive and technological innovations has extended the application of proppants into unconventional reservoirs. The company’s expertise in hydraulic fracturing and their skilled personnel will continue to develop advanced proppant technology for the industry.
