Borealis and Borouge will display their capabilities to provide dedicated materials that meet the rigorous requirements of the healthcare industry by offering extended technical support, quality control procedures, special production actions and regulatory compliance at ICSE 2011.
They will highlight the Bormed dedicated polyolefins for the healthcare industry at the event. The material meets the quality standards and regulatory needs for medical and pharmaceutical applications.
The companies will feature Bormed SC820CF and Bormed LE6609-PH material at the event. Bormed SC820CF is ideal for tubing, pouches and soft medical film and Bormed LE6609-PH is developed for ampoules and bottles produced using blow, fill and seal (BFS) technology.
Bormed LE6609-PH offers high performance and security for sterilized products. It ensures efficient manufacturing and decreases material usage. Bormed LE6609-PH enables steam sterilization at temperatures over 110°C due to its utmost possible density and melting point for a polyethylene of low density. The material’s high density and enhanced molecular weight distribution (MWD) helps to reduce material and weight ranging from 5 to 7%.
Bormed SC820CF polypropylene (PP) copolymer is another new innovation that enhances performance and efficiency in the healthcare sector. The material is soft, tough and steam sterilizable and is suitable for blown and cast-film applications. Bormed SC820CF is utilized in secondary wrap films to protect them from vapor and dust. It is also expected to be used as a blending component for primary pouches.
