Borealis, a plastics company, announced that it will display some of its novel products and solutions at the FAKUMA 2011, an international fair for plastics processing, which is to be held in Friedrichshafen, Germany from October 18 to 22.
The products to be showcased include Borealis Xmod GB306SAF PPGF36, Bormod BJ998MO, Bormod BF970MO and Bormed HD810MO.
Borealis Xmod GB306SAF PPGF36 is an ideal alternative to heavy weight materials like higher density plastics, aluminum and steel for application in the automotive industry. The material decreases auto part weight by around 15%. Bormed HD810MO is a polypropylene material that integrates radiation resistance or decreased friction with exceptional transparency. This feature enhances the product’s benefits for applications such as syringes.
Bormod BJ998MO is a polypropylene heterophasic copolymer that has been developed to meet the major challenge of higher productivity without disturbing the performance. The material contributes to sustainability by enabling energy savings in the manufacturing process and lightweight packaging. Bormod BJ998MO has been selected at FAKUMA to make butter containers. Bormod BF970MO, a heterophasic copolymer, is produced using Borealis’ proprietary Borealis Nucleation Technology (BNT). The technology offers a more uniform crystalline structure while cooling and fast solidification for earlier de-molding. The copolymer is suitable for applications such as furniture and storage boxes where excellent balance between impact and stiffness is required.
