Linde North America, a part of The Linde Group, announced that it will improve its supply network in the U.S.Midwest by increasing nitrogen production at its air separation plant in Delta, Ohio.
The company will work with one of its US affiliates to add a nitrogen liquefier with a capacity to produce 575 t per day. The liquefier will capture spare molecules that are produced by the plant. It is designed with the latest technology from Linde Engineering to minimize power consumption.
Linde North America’s President, Pat Murphy stated that the addition of the liquefier is a key step in Linde’s strategy to make its national network of facilities more energy efficient, sustainable and reliable. Such advancement supports Linde to offer high quality products to customers. The nitrogen liquefier installation will be completed by the second quarter of 2013. This will replace the current nitrogen production from the older Linde’s air separation facility in the Midwest.
The Delta air separation plant of Linde North America has been delivering argon and oxygen to two neighboring steel producers through a pipeline and by truck to hospitals and industrial clients.Industrial clients include foundries and welding shops across Ohio. Liquid nitrogen produced at the plant will be supplied to the automotive, chemicals, metals and food processing customers by tankers trucks.
