AlwaysOn has selected NanoH2O, a developer of nanotechnology-based reverse osmosis membranes for the desalination of seawater, as one of the GoingGreen Global 200 winners.
AlwaysOn will honor NanoH2O and other GoingGreen Global 200 winners at its GoingGreen Silicon Valley event to be conducted at the San Francisco City Hall in San Francisco, California on September 27 2011. Debates and presentations on new entrepreneurial opportunities and up-and-coming green technologies will be the features of the event.
Using its proprietary polymer technology and nanostructured materials, NanoH2O produces thin-film nanocomposite membranes for the improvement of productivity and energy efficacy of desalination. The nanocomposite membranes decrease the price of desalinated seawater to a maximum of 25%. They demonstrate the market’s highest permeability, while sustaining removal of contaminants and salt as per industry specifications. They can purify water from a wide range of sources and have engineered to integrate into existing and new desalination facilities across the world.
NanoH2O’s Chief Executive Officer, Jeff Green stated that the company continually proves that its nanocomposite membrane technology can decrease the price of desalinated water, while reducing the environmental impact of water desalination. After being selected in AlwaysOn's 2007 and 2008 Going Green Top 100 Awards as well as its 2009 Global 250, the company is happy about its inclusion in the 2011 list of GoingGreen Global 200 winners, which includes companies developing novel green technologies, he added.
