Bourque Industries has delivered its first order worth $6000 for ballistic armour to the Sheriff’s department in Collier County. The Sheriff’s Department had ordered for a total of eight Kryron Terminator III stand alone frontal assault armour plates for the SWAT team.
The Terminator level III armour system uses patented metal alloy Kryron, which was invented by Bourque Industries CEO John.M.Bourque.
The Kryron armour plates used in the Terminator level III system are lighter and more durable than the standard plates made of ceramic. They also effectively remove bullet ricochet and armour spall where armour and bullet remains get deflected upon hitting the armour. Impact of bullets hitting the hard armour is one of the primary reasons of injury. According to Bob Lewis, who is the Commander of the Special Operations Group at the Sheriff’s office and also a member of the advisory board of National Tactical Officers Association, the Sheriff’s Department is the first law enforcement organisation to deploy the Kryron Terminator level III armour plates. He also added that these armour plates were the most consistent and were able to withstand more than 100 rounds of firing without getting affected.
The armour system is presently being tested at the National Institute of Justice. However, the Sheriff’s Department will go ahead with the purchase. Bourque Industries is the sole distributor for all technologies that use Kryron.
