Oxea Expands Texas-Based Plant for Syngas Production

Oxea, one of the world’s leading chemical companies, has expanded its Bay City facility in Texas, USA to increase the production capacity of Syngas.

The Bay City plant is a world-scale facility established for manufacturing acetate esters, synthetic fatty acids and oxo chemicals. The manufacturing capabilities of the Texas facility are increased by 10%.

Syngas is a key ingredient for the manufacture of oxo derivatives and oxo intermediates such as amines, specialty esters, carboxylic acids, polyols and alcohols. These products are utilized in the production of plastics, printing inks, flavorings and fragrances, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, lubricants and high-quality coatings.

Spokesperson for the Executive Board, Dr. Martina Flöel stated that the expansion work has been implemented rapidly and cost-effectively through the company’s experienced teams and expertise in engineering and production. The Texas plant expansion further optimizes Oxea’s value-adding chains and also increases product availability. Currently, the company’s oxo range of products have a high demand and higher product availability will further enhance service and security for its clients. The initiative reinforces Oxea’s global position in the market of oxo-derivatives and oxo-intermediates.
