CPI Aerostructures has secured new follow-on orders for the production and supply of different assemblies for the AH-1Z ZULU twin-engine attack helicopter.
The client is Bell Helicopter, a wholly owned subsidiary of Textron, and the purchase orders are worth $1.4 million. In addition, CPI Aero has been awarded aggregate orders worth more than $1.67 million for use in the AH-1Z assemblies. The new orders are an extension of the agreement announced in March 2011. The AH-1Z helicopter is utilized by the United States Department of Defense (DoD).
The company is delighted to partner with Bell and be a part of the DoD program. The delivery of the aircraft assemblies is expected to commence in early 2012. Totally, the new orders received by the company for the initial nine months of 2011 produces $79.1 million, which is greater than the previous year’s annual record of $61.7 million.
CPI Aero is a company engaged in the contract production of aircraft structural components and other parts for the U.S. Air Force, major defense contractors, and other divisions of the armed forces. It also serves as a subcontractor to major aircraft manufacturers for producing commercial aircraft parts. The company provides technical, engineering and program management services by receiving support from its assembly operations.
