The International Self-Powered Building Council (ISPBC) has certified CleanCoating as the commercial service provider of the XTI-360 Active Shield, which has been developed by XTI02.
The XTI-360 Active Shield nanocoating can be used on various types of interior surfaces such as curtains, carpets, air-filters, air-ducts, ceilings, walls and furniture to eliminate mould spores, dust, pollutants that cause allergy, asthma, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and Trichloroethylene (TCE) that causes cancer.
SGS Food Laboratory has tested the product and established that it is 99.999% effective against E.coli and MRSA bacteria. The XTI-360 Active Shield uses the latest oxidation processes and has the capability to absorb odours 150 times more than active charcoal. ISPBC has given its strong recommendations in favour of the XTI-360 being used in hotels as it can reduce the impact caused by harmful cleaning agents and chemicals that are used by hotels to clean their rooms. This can be highly useful for hotels as they can provide value added services to their customers by ensuring a VOC free healthy environment for their stay.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), VOCs are the leading causes of threats to the environment and to the health and TCE is the largest indoor airborne contaminant in the US. According to Chuck Gerba, University of Arizona’s professor of microbiology, the office environment consisting of the mouse, keyboard, and work desk, phone etc contain 400 times more bacteria than the toilet seat. Cleancoating provides the XTI-360 nanocoating Active Shield to shopping malls, hotels, homes, agriculture and food industries, schools, hospitals and offices.
