Chinese company, Praxair has entered into a contract with Jiangsu Oji Paper to supply oxygen for the purpose of pulp bleaching used in the process of paper manufacturing. As per the contract, Praxair will set up a vacuum and pressure swing adsorption system, on site, through which oxygen will be supplied to the Jiangsu Oji Paper Project situated in Nantong, Jiangsu province.
The facility is expected to become operational by the end of 2012. This is the largest investment made by Japan in China and is also the largest investment by the Oji Paper Group abroad.
According to Minda Ho who is the President of Praxair China, through this project, the company will continue to contribute to the paper industry all over the world through its world class gas supply. Praxair specialises in producing, selling and distributing specialty and atmospheric gases and is also involved in surface coatings with high performance levels. The company’s products are used in various industries such as food and beverage, healthcare, chemicals, metals, manufacturing, electronics and aerospace. Praxair China has 21 wholly owned companies under it and has entered into nine joint ventures in China. Jiangsu Oji Paper is also one of the leading paper manufacturers in the global paper industry.
