Cascades Tissue Group has introduced the away-from-home market’s first advanced hardwound roll towel called the Cascades Elite.
The innovative Cascades Elite hand towels are a perfect match to the Cascades hand towel dispenser line called the Cascades Tandem. The dispenser features a controlled paper release to significantly decrease consumption and an end-of-roll transfer system to eliminate stub roll waste and enable a tailored advertising window.
Atmos, a novel production technology originally created by the Tissue Process Technology Center of Voith Paper, is used for the production of the Cascades Elite hand towels. The TAD equivalent (TADe) technology manufactures strong, soft-feeling and absorbent paper using a minimum number of sheets.
The products made with Atmos technology resemble the absorbent towel products using through-air-dried (TAD) technology, which uses virgin fiber in general. However, Cascades’ TADe technology manufactures superior quality toweling paper products using 100% recycled fiber and fewer chemical products, enabling 35% reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases when compared to TAD technology-based products.
Cascades’ whitening process devoid of chlorine consumes water 80% lesser than that of the average value of the paper industry in North America. The President and Chief Executive Officer at Cascades Tissue Group, Suzanne Blanchet stated that Cascades has trust in sustainable products since its inception. This is the reason behind the company’s investment in the innovative TAD-equivalent technology, which allows the company to produce high-end, eco-friendly products, Blanchet added.
