LANXESS, a leader in German specialty chemicals, signs a long-term agreement with the Hwaseung, Tier-One Automotive Supplier of South Korea, without disclosing the financial details. According to the agreement, LANXESS will supply premium Ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) synthetic rubber to Hwaseung Company.
In addition to the supply of the EPDM synthetic rubber, both the companies will work together towards research and development factors on specialty applications of the EPDM rubber.
Global leader of the Technical Rubber Products business unit of LANXESS, Guenther Weymans, and Senior Vice President of Hwaseung Networks, Yoohwi Choi, signed the long-term agreement for the supply of the EDPM synthetic rubber at “Rubber Day Korea” of LANXESS in Jeju.
Weymans stated that this newly signed agreement will enhance the strength of the successful partnership existing between LANXESS and Hwaseung. Weymans also said that this agreement between both the companies will create another milestone in the successful integration of the newly acquired EPDM rubber business.
Choi stated that the company is pleased to partner with LANXESS once again, which is a premium supplier of synthetic EPDM rubber, highly recognized by the company’s customers.
The Keltan branded EPDM synthetic rubber of LANXESS ensures comparatively less density, good electrical insulation properties, and shows resistance to chemicals, weathering, oxidation and heat. This EPDM rubber is mainly used in the applications of the automobile industries e.g. door sealant application. The Keltan EPDM rubber can also be used in a wide range of applications such as construction, oil additives, cable and wire, plastics modification industries.
