Process Relations GmbH announces the release of the 2011.2 version of its Process Development Execution System XperiDesk.
The new release vastly decreases the time it takes to go from raw experimental data to analyzed results. Initial feedback from outside analysts show results were obtained at least 20% faster. This significant saving in time is due to tight integration with existing data from diverse sources.
The highlights of the new release are the integration of a new SQL client to import data from any JDBC compliant SQL database and the direct export of search results into the statistical software JMP. These extensions were developed in close collaboration with Process Relations' customers.
The new SQL client is based on the successful Excel and File Loading clients. It provides a simple method for importing data into the XperiDesk software suite from SQL Databases supporting a JDBC interface. The data is formalized, imported and meshed up with the existing information content within XperiDesk. Subsequent queries use the unit aware parameters as well as the relations to other entries to filter out analysis relevant data points.
The export of search results to JMP is the next step for engineers to analyze data more easily and quickly. Besides the filtered export to Excel and CSV the new export can feed data directly into JMP. Just searching the required information imported from multiple sources into XperiDesk, pressing export and an analysis can directly be performed in JMP. No more copy and paste from various Excel and Text files necessary, just selecting and pushing out data to JMP for visualizing or analyzing it.
As with the last release, the improvement of the usability was another main consideration for the new features. Together with users of XperiDesk new capabilities like a simple, Google-like search, highlighting of outdated steps in process flows or the possibility to directly open materials with all safety documents from the process step were developed and included in this release. Furthermore the existing Excel and File importing clients were extended. Now all fields can be imported and it is now possible to mesh new entries to as many other entries as necessary in one import.
Dirk Ortloff, CTO of Process Relations commented: "Our customers love the ability of XperiDesk to automatically import and formalize their data from their various Excel Sheets and file servers into one central information repository. These capabilities reduce the time process engineers require to collect and prepare data for analysis by factors. With the new import from SQL databases we are now able to collect even more development data in an automated way.
The export of the merged and filtered information into JMP was only the next logical step. Our customers are now able to handle and analyze information from various sources without spending days for the error prone collecting and merging of data. This closed a very important gap in current development methodologies and marks a breakthrough in engineer efficiency."
XperiDesk, originally launched in 2008, is a comprehensive software suite designed to support the development of new high-tech manufacturing processes from the initial conceptual stages through simulation, experiments, analysis and finally a robust, high-yielding production-ready process. Through XperiDesk entering data, searching data and analyzing it becomes easy and effortless, allowing the engineers to focus on the actual development work, reducing cost and time-to-market.
