US-based supplier of silicone and technology based on silicon is offering a wide range of sealing materials on silicone and silicon-based technology, which can be used for safe and reliable automotive electrical-system connectors. The processing and performance parameters of the materials can be altered according to the application on which it is used.
The range of materials include Silastic high consistency rubber elastomers, which are ready-made compounds, Silastic liquid silicone rubber elastomers that have an optimal combination of mechanical properties and high volume production, Dow Corning GT precured gel grommets and sealing strips, which provide self curing mat seals and grommets for connectors with high-density, Silastic fluorosilicone rubber elastomers, which can be used for connector seals and gaskets that are exposed to oils and fuels and Silastic Fluoro Liquid Silicone Rubber (F-LSR) Elastomers, which have combined characteristics of liquid processing and fuel resistance. The range of products is also available for the production of form-in place bonding and electrical sealing.
According to Mitsuhiro Sakamaki who is a global automotive major for Dow Corning, the new range of products help in improving the efficiency of the manufacturing process and reducing the costs of moulded-connector sealing components like mat seals, bushings, outer seals and weather-pack and mat seals.
