EXTENDE Release Computed Tomography Module for NDT Applications

EXTENDE, the exclusive distributor of CIVA, the leading software of simulation for Non Destructive Testing, is pleased to announce to you the release of the Computed Tomography module (CT) in CIVA.

CIVA is an expertise platform which includes modeling, imaging and analysis tools, facilitating the design and optimization of inspection methods and helping to predict their performance for realistic configurations.

Well known for Ultrasound testing (UT) simulation, CIVA also allows to simulate Eddy Current testing (ET) and Radiographic testing (RT) in the previous versions. In RT, users were able to simulate radiographic inspections taking into account the most influential parameters such as the source, the detector, the component and the flaw. One of the main advantages of CIVA RT is that it simulates direct and scattered radiations in order to be as close as possible to realistic experimental results.

In addition to RT inspection parameters, the new CIVA 10.1 version includes the tomographic technique. All the options already available in the RT module are integrated in the CT module. In particular, the user can import a realistic complex 3D CAD Component.

After computing the radiographic inspections for the different positions of the source and the detector, specific algorithms implemented in CIVA allow the user to realize the tomographic reconstruction.
