The director of product management for the company Kurt Sosinski said that the company’s Low Rise Foam Insulation Adhesive Green contains a large number of biobased raw materials, and is qualified for the USDA’s BioPreferred program. The company anticipates associating with proprietors and contractors demanding sustainable products that facilitate high performance to meet the standards of building codes and insurance requirements. Roof insulation boards are directly installed to roof decks and other insulation layers through Low Rise Foam Insulation Adhesive Green, and serve better for institutional buildings and low slope commercial. USDA Certified Biobased Product status achievement results from a thorough certification process on the product. The process requires observation and validation of the product by independent third parties. This is executed to measure the amount of biobased carbon within the product, as suggested by ASTM D 6866. Based on the product type, certification is presented to products with threshold amount of biobased carbon, i.e 20 to 25%. The Low Rise Foam Insulation Adhesive Green of Tremco with 48% biobased content has been awarded with certification by the USDA BioPreferred Product Program.
