US based Invista, which owns the LYCRA brand of sport fabric, has announced that it will add two additional performance standards for the LYCRA SPORT fabric certification programme. The additional performance standards will focus particularly on LYCRA SPORT ENERGY fabric and LYCRA SPORT BEAUTY fabric.
The LYCRA SPORT fabric line uses advance fibre technology controlled by stringent performance requirements specifically for use in sports and outdoor dresses. The fabric certification programme was developed as a result of feedback received from athletes and people who required freedom of movement in their activities in terms of shape and retaining the shape of the apparel. It was established later in a consumer survey that purchase interest in LYCRA grew to 60% due to the certification programme.
While all LYCRA SPORT fabrics will fall under the first basic tier where the fabric is required to have bi-directional stretch and freedom of movement, the LYCRA SPORT ENERGY fabric will fall under a new performance standard tier where compression fabrics are required to maintain balance between comfort, freedom of movement and compression power. The LYCRA SPORT BEAUTY fabric will fall under a new performance standard tier where fabrics will be required to have a balanced combination between shaping performance and style and appearance.
The hangtags for all the three tiers will be available as LYCRA SPORT and will meet the tough performance requirements of each tier.
