Visualization Sciences Group (VSG) announces the release of version 7 of Avizo Fire, the 3D visualization and analysis software for materials science. This major release brings new tools and enhanced capabilities for exploring, analyzing and understanding complex materials and object structures.
From powerful image processing commands to advanced measurement tools, Avizo Fire 7 brings numerous new features that significantly increase the quantitative analysis capabilities of image-based data, from nano- to macro-scale, from electron microscopy to CT-scans. Enriched visualization, segmentation and quantification tools provided by Avizo Fire 7 allow for better, faster characterization of ever more complex materials and structures.
This major Avizo release also delivers major improvements in productivity: Version 7 introduces several automated workflows to enable users to perform complex analysis processes in a few clicks. Auto-calibration and integrated histograms help quickly identify relevant information on imported data. Tools have been reorganized, renamed and simplified, with many tooltips. Learning curve and ease of use have thus been greatly improved.
Finally, Avizo 7 brings significant performance and feature enhancements: enhanced file format support, better Matlab integration, and many enhancements in the quantification module. Many general performance enhancements have been achieved, and some of the most time-consuming image processing computations have been greatly accelerated using multi-core techniques and GPU-computing implementation.
"This new version 7 represents a major step forward, both in functionality and usability", says Pascal Doux, VSG Product Director. "Avizo Fire 7 definitely stands as a leading 3D software platform for engineers and researchers who need to get better insight in complex materials and object structures".
