Star Thermoplastic Rubbers & Alloys’ Star Thermoplastics Division will showcase its new range of TPE products on April 2012 at the National Plastics Exposition in Orlando. The company will highlight thermoplastic products and services at its booth/stand in the TPE Pavilion, North Hall.
The products and services that will be highlighted by the Star Thermoplastics Division include StarPrene, a new TPE family that is similar to the popular TPVs available on the market, a new line of secure TPEs for pet toys as well as products that are produced to counter TPEs, a new StarClear line of TPEs, a line of overmolding grades equivalent to TPEs and a newly enlarged rheological and instrumentation laboratories.
The StarPrene thermoplastic elastomer is available as a replacement for thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) that are currently being used by marketers, manufacturers and designers. This SEBS-based TPE has better elongation and tensile strength compared to TPVs and it is not required to dry the TPE before processing.
The new StarPet TPEs, designed for pet toys and other products for producers and marketers in the domestic area, are safe, non-toxic and long lasting as well as easy to mold and recycle.
The StarClear line of TPEs is a new line of clear thermoplastics, which have clarity and offer end-user benefits. Customers can use this material for a wide range of applications.
The new expanded line of overmolding grades is sold under the name StarFlex TPEs. Star has enlarged its OM grades with enhanced characteristics and its capacity to be overmolded to a better range of substrates.
Star Thermoplastics’ rheological and instrumentation laboratory is a full-service laboratory that duplicates or clones nearly any other TPE available in the market. It also develops custom formulations accurately and quickly for unique, unusual or standard applications.
