The Teijin Group, a global technology-driven group, will be exhibiting its products and solutions at Plastindia 2012. This plastics industry trade fair will be held from February 1 to 6 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, India.
Teijin will highlight a number of high-performance solutions for environmental protection, energy savings and other applications at the exhibition. Teijin India, Teijin Aramid, Teijin Chemicals, Teijin Polycarbonate Singapore, Teijin DuPont Films Japan and Toho Tenax are the companies of the Teijin Group that will be participating in the trade fair.
Teijin’s advanced materials and products that will be showcased at the exhibition include the PU_PA, Technora and Twaron para-aramid fibers, Tenax carbon fiber, Panlite polycarbonate resin, Biofront bioplastic and Polyester film.
The PU_PA, a lightweight concept car, is formed with Teijin materials such as Panlite polycarbonate resin, Tenax carbon fiber and Biofront bioplastic. Technora and Twaron para-aramid fibers provide wear resistance as well as low roughness to thermoplastic components. Tenax carbon fiber has high electrical properties and carbon fiber supported thermoplastic for electronics/electrical applications.
Automotive parts of the PU_PA are made of Panlite polycarbonate resin, such as a
panoramic roof system, interior parts and door handle as well as other applications including an electrical smart meter, surface hardened sheet, flame-retardant sheet, optical lens and LED lamp. Biofront heat-resistant bioplastic features much higher melting point compared to conventional bioplastic and semi-crystallization. In addition, hydrolytic stability is attained in just 20% to 25% of the time needed by conventional bioplastic. Teijin has used polyester film for electronics and electrical applications, including wiring harnesses, photovoltaic cells and motor insulations.
Through its exhibition at Plastindia, Teijin is planning to manifest its knowledge and experience to customers and partners in a wide range of applications, plus expand its presence and commitment to the Indian plastics market.
