Bayer to Divest Rhein Chemie Subsidiary

Bayer has just announced plans to sell its subsidiary Rhein Chemie Rheinau GmbH, located in Germany to a group of financial investors advised by Advent International. The sale is worth 215 million Euros, including the assumption of debt. The transaction is due for completion in November, pending customary approvals.

The transaction involves:

  • iSL-Chemie GmbH & Co
  • KG Of Kurten
  • Rhein Chemie affiliates in the USA, Japan and a 90% owned joint venture in China

The new ownership will provide Rhein Chemie with excellent prospects for expansion.

Rhein Chemie is a leading supplier of specialties to the rubber, lubricant and plastics industries.
